Measurement technology is coming to play an increasingly important role in the portfolio of our services. A particular emphasis here falls on the geometrical testing of rails. This is based on the use of ultra-modern equipment that has been specially developed for use in this application. These include, in particular, transverse profile measurement using the ‘MiniProf’ device and the ‘Railmonitor-lite’, and measurement of rectilinearity with the “SEC Electronic Measurement Ruler”. Most recently pride of place belongs to the complete track measurement project that is being carried out in cooperation with BSAG Bremen. This is based on the use of a track measurement train that was specially made for the purpose. It is GPS-supported and laser-controlled, and supplies measurement values at intervals of about every 2.7 cm.
